Strategic partnerships

Over the years, EFQUEL has strengthened its international network by collaborating with important stakeholders in the field of quality and innovation in learning, and has concluded formal partnerships with the following organisations:

GIZ is the official German development cooperation agency and one of the largest development agencies globally.  It offers international cooperation services for sustainable development..  EFQUEL collaborates with GIZ for the management and community building activities around ECBCheck, the capacity development quality label.

Unitted Nations University: The mission of the United Nations University is to contribute, through collaborative research and education, dissemination, and advisory services, to efforts to resolve the pressing global problems of human survival, development and welfare that are the concern of the United Nations, its Peoples and Member States.  EFQUEL and UNU collaborate on various OER initiatives and UNU is strongly involved in Open ECBCheck.

The International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) is the leading global membership organization for the open and distance education community, and is open to institutions, educational authorities, commercial actors, and individuals.  EFQUEL and ICDE are collaborating on a common quality initiative for distance education and are working together on various OER initiatives.

UOCUniversitat Oberta de Cataluny: The UOC is an internationally recognised online university with a community of over 60,000 students.  In their Madrid branch, UOC hosts the EFQUEL office to liaise with Spanish and Latin American initiatives and members.  UOC and EFQUEL are also collaborating on the development of the EFQUEL Academy.
