Prof. Dr. Ulf-Daniel Ehlers (Vicepresident of Baden-Wurttemberg Cooperative State University, Germany), President of EFQUEL – Elected in 2011 (Vicepresident from 2005 till 2011)
Prof. Dr Ulf-Daniel Ehlers is Vicepresident for Quality and Academic Affairs at the Baden Wurttemberg-State University in Stuttgart, Germany. He has been appointed Professor for Educational Management and Lifelong Learning at the same university. Before he held positions as Associate Professor in the Duisburg-Essen, Germany, Professor for Technology Enhanced Learning in the University Augsburg, and was Associate Professor of the Graduate School for Management and Technology of the University of Maryland University College. Ulf is an educational scientist and holds degrees in English Language, Social Sciences and Educational Sciences from the University of Bielefeld, where he finished his Ph.D. with honors in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning in 2003, and was awarded his habilitation in 2008 from the University of Duisburg-Essen. He has created many international, European and national projects and is President of the European Foundation for Quality in E-Learning, Vicepresident of the of the Society for Media in Science as well as serving on advisory board to several professional associations in the field (www.ulf-ehlers.de).
Prof. Dr. Albert Sangrà (UOC, Spain) Vice-President of EFQUEL – Elected in 2011
Albert Sangrà is the Academic Director at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and is responsible for the application of new technologies. He is also a senior consultant in various distance learning projects in Europe, America and Asia. Previously, he had been professor at different levels of the Spanish education system. Albert Sangrà has a degree in Pedagogy (University of Barcelona) and a postgraduate certificate in Open and Distance Education (British Open University).
Ingeborg Bø (NADE, Norway), Treasurer of EFQUEL – re-elected in 2013
Ingeborg Bø has her arts degree from the University of Oslo, Norway. All her professional life she has been working within the field of open and distance education. She has been editor and course developer, project manager and chief of editorial department. Since 1992 she has been executive director of the Norwegian Association for Distance Education (NADE), which is a membership organisation for public and private institutions and universities offering open and distance education and e-learning.

EFQUEL Statutes and Regulations
Decisions on EFQUEL’s strategy and vision are taken by the Board of Directors. The members of the board are elected for a 3 year term. The board can contain a maximum of 15 members (cfr. EFQUEL regulations) and all members can apply for this. Read more about the election regulations.
Once per year, EFQUEL organises a General Assembly for all members. Find out about the next meeting on the General Assembly information page.
